About the Role


Reporting to the Superintendent Track Maintenance, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and driving best practice maintenance activities for the rail execution teams and within the Rail Shut Management Framework.
 

Additional responsibilities will include:
 

  • Providing technical input and support with rail infrastructure failures and rectification requirements;
  • Generate and/or review work scopes and methodologies;
  • Ensure effective and sustainable engineering solutions are identified and actioned, addressing reliability issues to improve asset health for our critical infrastructure;
  • Conduct audit and reporting functions aligned with Defect Elimination and Reliability Centred Maintenance engineering principles;
  • Work closely with customers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications, including qualitative reviews of execution activities;
  • Provide technical input into the shut management process, ensuring optimal sequencing and quality execution for consolidated maintenance activities;
  • Implement business capability improvements while ensuring associated risks are managed for Rail;
  • Understand network requirements, review strategies, budget estimates and provide indepth support to the Rail Network Maintenance teams; and
  • Provide consistent mentoring and coaching to the execution and planning teams, including Field Leadership and risk management activities.

About You

 

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical) with rail experience;
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills within a rail infrastructure maintenance environment;
  • Strong teamwork skills with an ability to communicate confidently at all levels and establish a good rapport with a diverse range of people and stakeholders from frontline to senior management; and
  • C Class driver’s license.
