Our Operations:
One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.
Please note there are multiple positions available, with positions based at Olympic Dam, operating a 7/7 roster pattern arrangement.

About the role

As a member of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team you will be active in providing maintenance support to the requirements of the work team, by adhering to operating requirements, maintenance schedules and striving to achieve individual, team and site objectives as directed.    

In this role you will:
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
  • Provide mechanical trade skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance
  • Assist with planned maintenance work where available
  • Develop a close working relationship with mine personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately
  • Provide continual feedback to the Shift Maintenance Supervisors on job progress

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Proven ability to follow processes and procedures and conduct basic risk assessments
  • Hold relevant mechanical trade certification  
  • Be focused on working collaboratively within your team to achieve results
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • A valid driver’s license, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Confident using maintenance management systems including SAP based programs.
  • Working at Heights & Confined Space Qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Riggers, Doggers and Gantry Crane tickets are advantageous.
