The Light Vehicle Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all light equipment within the Cliffs Nickel Operation. You will work with the highest priority to safety at all times, striving to complete work within agreed timeframes and in doing so, supporting the Cliffs Nickel Operation by being industry leaders in maintenance. While working from a fully equipped light vehicle workshop at times you will occasionally be called to recover broken down vehicles from underground.

About You

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Experience in a Light Vehicle Technician position.
  • Experience in underground mining maintenance with FIFO exposure is highly regarded.
  • Experience working on underground vehicles is highly regarded.
  • Fully competent in servicing Toyota landcruiser vehicles.
  • Experience with maintaining SIBS braking equipment would be beneficial.
  • Strong auto electrical fault diagnosis and repair skills highly regarded.
  • Hold a current ARC Refrigerant Handling License is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently but be a good team player.
  • Computer literate with 1SAP experience or similar software.
  • Current High Risk Work License Dogging and Forklift Qualifications are highly regarded.
  • WA "MR" Class drivers' license or National equivalent.

Nickel West Cliffs

Nickel West Cliffs is located approximately 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  Cliffs underground Nickel Mine is an integral part of Nickel West Leinster comprising of a nickel concentrator and dryer, located 12 kilometres south of Nickel West Mt Keith. Employees at Cliffs reside at the Mt Keith village,  some of the amenities at your disposal include internet connection, outdoor swimming pool, health and fitness equipment, indoor cricket, basketball court, BBQ areas plus and arrange of social activities.  As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Cliffs is a smoke free operation and has a clean shaven policy.
