Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical Maintenance, the Mechanical Technician is responsible for the preventative and breakdown maintenance of all fixed plant equipment related to the Cage/Skip Winders, underground dewatering, primary ventilation and compressed air systems underground. You will be required to work with the highest priority to safety at all times and in doing so, supporting the Leinster Nickel Operation by being industry leaders in maintenance

About You


  • Trade Qualified Mechanical Technician with a solid work history post trade.
  • Previously /Currently employed in fixed plant maintenance .
  • Experience on various types of pumps, valves, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuit flow diagrams
  • Motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision
  • Good computer skills, ideally with SAP or 1SAP knowledge
  • Solid history in the mining industry especially those who are currently in FIFO roles.  
  • Forklift and Elevated Work Platform Ticket preferred 
  • Experience across Fixed Plant and Underground operations
  • Previous Underground experience would be highly advantageous
