About the role

The Ethics & Compliance team’s role is to protect BHP’s integrity by preventing and mitigating compliance risks and setting the ethical standards for how we operate in line with Our Charter. We design and govern controls, processes and training content related to ethical conduct, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism financing, competition, market manipulation, price reporting, export controls, sanctions, anti-boycott  or state/commercial secrets laws. Our Ethics and Investigations team manages our business conduct reporting helpline and investigates the most serious allegations of breaches.
As the Administration Assistant, you will support BHP’s Chief Compliance Officer and provide broader support to the Ethics & Compliance team. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Provision of high level administrative support for the Chief Compliance Officer and Ethics & Compliance team.
  • Management of the Chief Compliance Officer’s diary and travel.
  • Organisation of day-to-day activities, forward planning and coordination of meetings for the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Collation and preparation of presentations, papers and documents.
  • Budget support, invoice and purchase requisition processing.

This role is based in Melbourne ideally, but would consider Brisbane


About You

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Strong administration and executive support experience, ideally with experience in corporate services such as legal, compliance, risk or human resources but this is not essential.
  • Significant experience engaging with senior business stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with great time management skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels including senior management.
  • High achieving, motivated, positive outlook, enthusiastic and performance driven.
  • Experience working with SAP would be an advantage.
