About BHP

At BHP we support our people to grow, learn, develop their skills and reach their potential. With a global portfolio of operations, we offer a diverse and inclusive environment with extraordinary career opportunities.  Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success. Come and be a part of this success.

About the role

We are seeking a talented individual to take on the role of administrative support within our NPI Water Eastern team. This role is a dedicated resource that provides a high level of office and administrative support to ensure continuous improvement of NPI Water operations. You will work closely with the NPI Water Eastern Superintendent and various stakeholders, whilst always contributing to the safety culture.

About You

You will be an engaged individual, who demonstrates effective communication, has strong organisational skills and achieves results through working with multiple stakeholders. Ideally you will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.

Working on our Eastern Pilbara operations, we will provide you an environment where health and wellbeing are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and production. People are empowered, collaboration enabled and teams are connected to the strategy and plan. Our workforce is flexible, inclusive and diverse. Those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.

Our requirements:
  • Certificate II in Business and/or Certificate II in Business studies would be advantageous.
  • All required site statutory competencies as referenced in the site health and safety management system and/or BHP Iron Ore policy.
  • Valid Australian C class driver’s license.

Location In this residential role you will be based in Newman, Western Australia on a 5/2 roster pattern. You will be working at the NPI Utilities office adjacent to the Mount Whaleback mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world.
The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.

Supporting a diverse workforce

At BHP, we recognise that we are strengthened by diversity. We are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. We are an Equal Opportunity employer and we encourage applications from women and Indigenous people.

We know there are many aspects of our employees’ lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life.  These benefits include flexible working options, a generous paid parental leave policy, other extended leave entitlements and parent rooms.

The safety of BHP’s people and our candidates is our number one priority. Due to the unfolding circumstances of COVID-19 and the Government regulations in place to deal with the pandemic,   your working location and/or roster as advertised in this advert may be temporarily subject to change whilst the government regulations are in place. This is to ensure the health safety of our workforce, and to implement effective social distancing measures.  These changes if applicable will be discussed at screening and interview stage.
