The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

About the role

Our energetic and safety focused mining team is forming and we want you to be a part of it.  We are accepting expressions of interest from experienced Production Technicians to join the team towards the end of 2020 and early 2021.

A multi-million dollar investment has been made towards an impressive fleet of mobile equipment, including the market’s latest models of haul trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, excavators and drills.  Those with experience operating two or more pieces of the below ancillary equipment in an open pit mining environment will be highly regarded.

Excavator Operators
  • Excavators - Liebherr 9400 and 9600 experienced preferred

All Round Operators
  • Loaders - Komatsu WA1200
  • Graders - CAT 18M
  • Dozers - CAT D10 and D11

Your work at South Flank will shape the future of BHP and play a pivotal role in the creation of a world class mine.

About You

We are eager to engage with skilled mining operators with at least 2 years specific load and haul experience in a mining environment.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate how to safely operate these machines to enable continuous improvement of mining production.
