About the role

As a member of Olympic Dam’s Integrated Operations Leadership Team, the Asset Training Manager will be a critical enabler for Inclusion and Diversity within the operation and will be instrumental in driving a step change in safety and productivity improvement.This strategic role will require the integration of multiple areas within BHP to leverage the best and most contemporary thinking in areas such as improving the Graduate experience, establishing traineeships and Industry 4.0 apprenticeships.Improvement opportunities exist within the current training framework, with the expectation that these are identified and remediated to ensure there is a stable foundation for building requisite competencies across the operating Asset.From this stabilised foundation, the role will be expected to map out pathways to mastery level for various role types.

  • Demonstrates strong influencing and engagement skills by working across functional boundaries to gain commitment to solving large, complex and systemic problems
  • Demonstrates the ability to anticipate future trends and creates multiple scenarios that support the strategic planning process
  • Identifies emerging issues, performance trends and associated risks in contracts, and executes mitigating actions ensuring resolution with a focus on maintaining or improving value.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the industry context and its impact on Company strategy and priorities.
