About BHP

Join our new South Flank Project

The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.

This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic individual to be part of something big – to work in an innovative team, with evolving technology, and playing a pivotal role in creating a world class mine.

About the role

A multi-million dollar investment has been made towards an impressive fleet of mobile equipment, including the market’s latest models of dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, drills and haul trucks.

With a focus on reliability and quality, these field and/or workshop based Auto Electricians will deliver world class maintenance and be a key driver in continuously improving and standardising work practices.

About You

While mining experience is advantageous, we would still love to hear from those who come from a Construction, Manufacturing, Aviation, Civil, Defence, Marine, Oil & Gas and Agriculture background – just to name a few!

We are eager to engage with energetic and experienced Auto Electricians who have demonstrated large-scale equipment maintenance experience. Your expertise in problem solving & diagnostics, coupled with your ability to communicate and build strong team relationships will make you an ideal candidate. Your focus on continuous improvement along with your ability to coach and mentor will be highly regarded. A Trade Qualification in Automotive Electrical and a valid Driver’s license is essential.

Due to COVID-19 and corresponding border closures across Australia, you ideally must be located in Western Australia or be prepared to move to Western Australia for this opportunity. Further information will be provided throughout the recruitment process.
