About BHP

The BHP Operating System (BOS) is a global programme that focuses on continuous improvement and transformation through an empowered culture to build a better BHP.

We are seeking individuals who recognise and can collaborate with us to pursue three core BOS principles: (1) Serve our customer, (2) Pursue Operating Perfection and (3) Empowering our People.

About the role

In the role of Deployment Coach, we are seeking an experienced and effective change agent who is passionate about helping teams and organisations embed an improvement culture. Your passion and drive will have delivered successful transformations in the past and you will have a proven track record of deploying new ways of working. We want to learn and integrate strong and proven practices from various industries to sustain a robust BOS. For these reasons, we are particularly keen to consider individuals who have varied industry experience and exposure in deploying the suite of quality and productivity methods in organisations.

Are you that person who can raise BOS to new heights? Are you an experienced change agent that can influence leaders at all levels? Do you think that your experience can boost our safety and productivity performance? Are you able to influence without authority and an effective coach? If your answer is a ‘yes’, then we want to hear from you. We are keen to leverage on proven capabilities and enhance the BOS deployment.

At BHP, we recognise that we are strengthened by diversity. We are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. We are an Equal Opportunity employer of women, men and First Nations people.

Our BHP Operating System team actively coaches the leaders and their teams to apply the tools and methods and embed the new way of working. The Deployment Coach is a key role within the team, providing expert support to the deployment efforts.

Your key deliverables are:
• Coach and build capability of the deployment teams involved in the program
• Provide specialist coaching and advise to deployment teams and line leaders to effectively implement the BHP Operating System
• Deliver the deployment plan with a focus on quality and outcomes
• Deliver a sustained increase in the site maturity as measured by our maturity criteria through embedment of the mindset, behaviours and management practices that enable the front line improvement culture

About You

As a Deployment Coach, you demonstrate:
• Experience leading or coaching leadership across multiple levels including senior leadership
• Proven experience, knowledge and mature understanding of implementing continuous improvement practices and leading change in a range of operational environments
• Ability to engage and influence with all levels of the business from frontline employees to site leadership

To get you on board, we will provide effective on-boarding into our organisation and into the BHP Operating System program. You will be supported by other Deployment Coaches with the collective experience and diverse skills across the team providing a learning opportunity for you while you deliver a positive impact to BHP and our deployment journey.

You will be based at one of our Pilbara operations on a fly-in fly-out or residential arrangement. For FIFO, this will be a 5/2, 4/3, 9/5 arrangement but may adjust depending on the deployment location and the local deployment requirements. Across our sites we have outstanding facilities at our FIFO villages; fully equipped gyms, swimming pool, recreational facilities and other facilities common to modern accommodation facilities in the WA mining industry. All rooms at the village have access to wireless internet, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.

Join us and be rewarded with interesting, challenging work in a supportive team culture. Leverage your extensive skills and experience and develop further whilst being part of a passionate team helping our organisation on this exciting journey.

We are currently seeking the right people for fixed term arrangement.

Supporting a diverse workforce

We know there are many aspects of our employees’ lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life.  These benefits include flexible working options, a generous paid parental leave policy, other extended leave entitlements and parent rooms.

The safety of BHP’s people and our candidates is our number one priority. Due to the unfolding circumstances of COVID-19 and the Government regulations in place to deal with the pandemic,   your working location and/or roster as advertised in this advert may be temporarily subject to change whilst the government regulations are in place. This is to ensure the health safety of our workforce, and to implement effective social distancing measures.  These changes if applicable will be discussed at screening and interview stage.
