About the role

As Specialist DevOps Engineer, you will proactively enhance and maintain operational stability, availability and performance of critical operational technology (OT) in the Non-Production Infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Manager OT Logistics Improvement, your key accountabilities will include:   
  • Full-stack support and maintenance of software applications, to support CCTV, physical access management, environmental telemetry 
  • Participate in DevOps in an Agile SCRUM process for the continuous improvement of applications using onshore and offshore resources  
  • Identify and participate in initiatives for the improvement of application reliability, stability and performance 
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the application design, maintenance and support of portfolio apps 
  • Provide technical expertise for the continuous maintenance and improvement of the product stability, reliability and performance 
  • Administration of underpinning data and integration platforms  
  • Participate in problem management and root cause analysis for failures in NPI applications 
  • Participate in, and collaborate with the Minerals Australia OT Logistics Improvement Teams Develop and maintain strong relationships with BHP teams, service partners, and vendors  
  • Utilise Work Management systems to optimise site-based team’s schedule and utilisation 
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement across people, process, technology and cost

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven recent and deep experience of full-stack development in complex n-tier applications, support NPI environments, as you are most likely to be an agnostic Developer.  You will have a tertiary qualification in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline and have 5+ years’ post-qualification experience developing, maintaining and supporting complex business systems, preferably OT systems. Strong understanding of the entire ISA95 suite will be advantageous, though not essential. You are a logical thinker, with good analytical skills with an excellent understanding of root cause analysis.  As the preferred candidate, you have superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop meaningful relationships and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels. Your ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical. You can understand and communicate highly technical information to non-technical audiences. You are a team player and work well with third-party vendors and support staff.
