About the role

This role is rotational, supporting the Drilling Superintendent in our Trinidad & Tobago Operations.You will initially be involved in the onshore operational planning of the completions and well testing program supporting the engineering team and Drilling Superintendent, rotating to the Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago office starting as early as March, 2020.  The offshore development campaign is expected to commence in August, 2020 and continue through at least April, 2021.  You will be accountable for HSE on the rig, well control, managing the rig contractor and third-party service providers, executing the completions and well testing programs safely and efficiently, and fostering a strong culture on the rig.  For more details on the role description, please review the “Organization, Development, and Training Standard” on the WSD Hub.

This position is a grade 10 role.

In this role you will:
  • Be accountable for HSE and well control on the rig
  • Develop and foster a strong culture of safety, trust, respect, inclusion, continuous improvement, and performance on the rig
  • Supervise the preparation of completions equipment at vendor shops and verifying the equipment is fit for purpose
  • Acknowledge and comply with the Offshore Supervision Matrix
  • Direct the activities of the drilling contractor and drilling service contractors to safely and efficiently execute the completions program
  • Ensure all BHP policies, management principles and standards are complied with
  • Direct, supervise and optimise all completions operations
  • Assist in the coordination of personnel, equipment and material requirements for completions operations
  • Monitor, document and report all completions operations affecting the well
  • Provide operational support during the preparation of the completions program
  • Mentor and develop the Completions Supervisors and wellsite engineers
  • Develop and grow your operational experience


About You

  • Good understanding of drilling/completion best practices
  • Proactive leadership and management skills, focused on HSE and efficiency
  • 3+ years of Completions and Well Services industry experience
  • 2+ years of wellsite completions supervision experience
  • 2+ years of well testing supervision experience (preferable)
  • Contractor supervisor experience is a plus 
  • B.O.S.I.E.T standard induction course completed in the last 4 years
