About the role

The CAV’s Village Operations ensure the provision of services (outsourced) are provided safe, cost effective and efficient service for all residents, contracting staff and visitors. This role is responsible for assisting in managing the Mass Transportation contracts and associated contracts within WAIO villages.


  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Model an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Monitoring contractors providing services within Mass Transportation in accordance with the requirements of the BHPBIO Contractor Management Framework.
  • Record minutes and actions from weekly Contract Management Framework meetings and report to the Superintendent Mass Transportation
  • Review and provide input into the development of Village policies, procedures and standards amendments for implementation within WAIO Villages.
  • Provide proactive administration and management WAIO Mass Transportation Contractors against contracted reporting metrics/operational and commercial KPI’s.
  • Develop communications material and templates in line with BHP branding standards and aligning material across People Logistics to achieve a standardised communications approach.
  • Shape the People Logistics communications strategy by refining existing processes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring key messages are well-communicated and align to BHP Standards.
  • Foster and pursue operational and commercial excellence through continuous improvement for People Logistics.
  • Sound commercial acumen in the management of Contractor invoicing including but not limited to raising Service Entry Sheets, Purchase Requests, accruals and monthly accounts.
  • Carry our regular audits on supply and demand in our aviation portfolio.
  • Input to the preparation of annual budgets (Operating and Capital as they relate to NPI People Logistics Operations area).
  • Develops relationships and regularly engages with stakeholders, working with them to provide quality services as required and in unison with the Superintendents of People Logistics.

About You

  • Tertiary education preferred.
  • Demonstrated Contractor management experience
  • Communications and marketing experience
  • Strong commercial & financial acumen
  • Stakeholder management experience

  • Commercial acumen and contract management experience.
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building with operational teams
  • Ability to function effectively during periods of high workload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to speak in front of large groups.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft suite of systems and SAP
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Healthy Safety Environment Community
  • Financial Literacy
