About the role

Producing 19 million tonnes of saleable product a year, the Production Coal Department at Mt Arthur Coal has an exciting role that represents an opportunity for you to grow your career.

As the Logistics Coordinator you will be based in the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and coordinate the scheduling and logistics of all coal produced from Mount Arthur to the railing hand-over point by integrating multiple operational plans and schedules.

Reporting to the Superintendent Coal Processing, you will: 
  • Actively participate in field leadership and various safety interactions;
  • Develop and integrate the logistics schedule into the weekly work schedule, product blend and production plan;
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with Marketing, Logistics, Processing and Mining personnel and contribute to fostering a positive and productive working relationship across these teams;
  • Manage logistics providers and contractors who support logistics activities;
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives;
  • Support Processing Supervisors and shift personnel through coaching and development to ensure volume and quality targets are met;
  • Schedule the pre Free On Board (FOB) quality including inbound and outbound certification;
  • Conduct the monitoring, reporting and analysis of performance to plan with respect to quality and logistics;
  • Investigate reported events or significant variance from the logistics schedule and plan where appropriate;
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reporting activities.
