About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Development Mechanical Coordinator to join our high-performing Broadmeadow team, as a permanent team member.  Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Development based on site, this primary focus of this role is to provide and assist maintaining the mechanical equipment part of the underground coal mining operations.  Key responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute maintenance on Sandvik continuous miners, Joy shuttle cars and other development underground equipment
  • Ensure compliance to the weekly plan and maintenance schedules
  • Participate in Field leadership activities to ensure safety is maintained to a high standard
  • Provide technical fault finding support to underground mechanical trades during breakdowns
  • Conduct investigations into HSEC and production delays using LEAN processes and implement continuous improvement measures.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role should have: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underground mining environment, but also holds the below qualifications:
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • High Level Hydraulic Training Reading and Interpreting Schematics
  • S1, S2, S3 and G2 preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in SAP
