About the role

BMA Blackwater mine is an open cut coal mine located in Central Queensland south of the town of Blackwater. This mine has one of the largest coal reserves in Australia and the world! This is an exciting opportunity for a number of experienced Dozer Push Supervisors to join our Blackwater team! Reporting to the Superintendent Draglines Dozer Push, in this role you will lead a large team of Dozer Operators and will oversee the day to day operations of the team to ensure safe and efficient operations.

In this role you will:

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the mine operations' and shift objectives are met in a safe, economical and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Be responsible for the oversight and direct line management of the dragline and dozer push team, providing direction and managing the delegation of work across the team. Identify and support team member’s opportunity for development, including identifying training requirements and arranging appropriate training as required.
  • Carry out regular inspections of mine workings to identify and correct hazards and unsafe work practices. Evaluate digging methods, operator techniques and overall machine productivity.
  • Ensure a continuous improvement approach to operations and process, lead the implementation of identified operational improvements.

About You

As our successful candidates, you will have the following:
  • S1, S2, S3 & G2 desired but not essential.
  • Previous leadership skills with the ability to encourage, support and lead a large team.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively across various levels.
  • Have a continuous improvement approach, with the ability to identify and implement new process.
  • Experience in Supervising large scale dozer push operations.
  • Supervisory experience in dragline operations would be highly advantageous but not a requirement.
