About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor Drill & Blast a (MPU) Mobile Processing Unit Operator will play a key role within the Drill & Blast team. In this role you will be required to deliver blasting materials safely in accordance with mine production requirements. You will be exposed to all facets of blast operations, exercising your meticulous operating skills and adaptable work ethic to diversify your experience across blasting activities.
Additional key responsibilities will include:
  • Support execution of production activities according to the Production Plan to produce the required quantity and quality of blasted floor stocks
  • Keep abreast with latest technological developments and legislative requirements

About You

As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:
  • Previous experience in Open Pit Blasting 
  • Experience in operating MMU/MPU vehicles with prior knowledge of explosives, storage regulations and loading practices within the mining or related industry
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card (essential)
  • HR Licence (essential)
  • Strong initiative and practical problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Sound computer skills
Location 
You will be based at our ‘Jimblebar’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster. Jimblebar is now an autonomous truck mine and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia. The facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, netted cricket pitch, basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television with Foxtel channels, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
