About the role

 In this role you may have exposure to:Working with the BHP Well & Seismic Delivery Team to plan and execute Drilling, Completions, Geological and Seismic operations. The team’s work is integrated under a single aggregation point to facilitate collaborative well planning, risk assessment and mitigation, execution, and continuous improvement.  Typical responsibilities for drilling and completion engineers include designing the well; preparing cost estimates, preparing regulatory permits for proposed well operations; preparing drilling and completion procedures; working with Operations Management and Drilling Superintendents to execute the procedures; and daily surveillance of rig activities to ensure the efficient, safe completion of all operations.  
Intern students will have an opportunity to work on a specific challenging project interacting with other interns, early career engineers, experienced engineers and management. There may also be an opportunity to visit and gain valuable experience on a deepwater drillship. Success will be measured by the quality of the end of project findings and conclusions presentation.  We are committed to providing:

About You

  • Pursing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • GPA = 3.25 or above
  • Available May 18 – August 7 for at least 9 weeks; 12 weeks preferred
  • Must have graduation date of December 2020 or later
  • Excellent interpersonal and grammar skills (both written and verbal)
