About the role

We have multiple 8 - 12 month fixed term contract Electrical Engineer & Senior Electrical Engineer positions vacant in the Central Pilbara Engineering team, which support our Yandi and Mining Area C Mines. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering Governance & Technical Stewardship (GTS), you will provide guidance and technical expertise to a team of engineers with a large stakeholder group across the business with a particular focus on all aspects of fixed plant processing equipment. As a GTS Engineer, you will support the team in identifying and realising opportunities for improvements whilst building on existing capability.

In this role you will:
  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching the team
  • Providing technical expertise to a broad range of stakeholders including Project, Production and Maintenance teams in both planned and breakdown environments
  • Support the ongoing asset integrity program at the operation through remediation plan development and identification of improvement initiatives
  • Managing and governing electrical standards
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures and standards with respect to electrical equipment
  • Identifying opportunities for technical improvements and the use of new technology to support the delivery of capital projects
  • Controlling and maintaining the blueprint (e.g. standards, specifications, procedures and drawings)
  • Reviewing and approving electrical engineering requests to support our Management of Change process
  • Providing technical advice to safety incident and root cause analysis investigations
  • Assisting with the development of budget and capital planning
  • Reviewing consultant electrical engineering work against the appropriate standards and auditing technical changes on site for compliance

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
  • A proven track record of safety management and “putting safety first approach” in engineering
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong ability to engage and interact with, and gain the confidence of a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience gained from working in teams such as maintenance, planning, design and / or operations
  • Expertise in the maintenance of fixed plant processing equipment including crushers, conveyors, screens, fixed structures, stackers and reclaimers will be advantageous
  • Experience in asset integrity engineering and management processes will be advantageous
  • Team focused with the desire to mentor and guide others
  • Current Australian drivers licence

A 5/2 4/3 is the standard FIFO roster for this role however flexible work rosters will be considered.

Location 

Area C
Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning. 

Yandi
Yandi is located approximately 170kms North of Newman West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts, golf driving range, mini golf, netted cricket pitch, beach volleyball court and recreation room. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, internet, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
