About the role

The Specialist G&TS – Electrical will report to the Governance & Technical Stewardship Superintendent, and will play a key role in providing technical electrical expertise to the Operation’s blueprint and work closely with the site engineering and operations teams to fulfill their core accountabilities. 
You will join a team of successful engineers and work collaboratively with all BMA Operations across the Bowen Basin through the Engineering function.

This role is based at our Peak Downs Mine site.

Responsibilities include:
  • Strong participation as a vital member of the Engineering team. This involves input into business plans, budgets and the safe, effective utilisation of the operation’s assets
  • Validate that material risks for the site are identified and related critical controls are implemented and effective
  • Identify and implement G&TS business improvement initiatives for Peak Downs in relevant areas of technical expertise
  • Delivery of systems strategic plans to ensure compliance, reliability and consistent processes
  • Ensuring compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Govern and control all technical information for the operation in relation to their area of expertise

About You

As the successful candidate you will have Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering or significant trade experience with relevant exposure in a mining operation and to the responsibilities stated above. You will have demonstrated capabilities in effectively engaging with various stakeholders across our business along with your focus on safety leadership experience.

You will also have extensive proven experience in design and management of electrical projects, as well as solid knowledge of the Electrical codes and standards. Proven experience managing contractors to deliver positive results in safety, culture and productivity coupled with business acumen will ensure success in this role. 

As this role requires you to be a strong people leader, naturally you are a forward thinker and focused on process discipline.
