About the role

Eastern Ridge Fixed Plant operations are seeking an Electrical Supervisor to join the Execution team. This newly created position has been designed to support the electrical coordinator to manage the safety and compliance of a team of electricians.  This is great opportunity for team development, diversifying skills and building knowledge across areas relevant to fixed plant and site infrastructure.

With this role you have the choice of either being fly-in fly-out from Perth to Newman on an 8 days-on 6 days-off roster, FIFO from Perth or residentially based in Newman. 

You’ll be working at Eastern Ridge mine site, which is made up of several deposits and contributes to the overall ore production of the Newman Joint Venture hub. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities.  As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.

In this role you’ll be responsible for;
  • Ensuring conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations
  • Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. Show leadership in Field leadership discussions,
  • Safety Meetings & Risk Assessments reviews
  • Ensuring all statutory inspections are carried out as per Mines Safety & Inspection Act, OH&S and the electricity regulations
  • Monitoring and measuring standards of work and performance of team members
  • Leading and coaching team members in the active pursuit and achievement of electrical safety
  • Supporting the Reliability and Project teams with the development of master data, maintenance tactics, critical spares selection and optimisation process

About You

To be considered for the role you’ll need;

  • A current 'A' grade electrical licence
  • Minimum C class manual driver’s licence
  • A good understanding of the electrical log book process
  • Excellent understanding of AS3000, AS3008
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capable of leading a team of electricians

The below skills are desirable, however, we’re happy and able to support you with training and development in these areas;
  • Registered Electrical Nominee
  • Prior experience with high voltage switching operations, PLC and instrumentation
  • Exposure to the Electric Shock Investigation process
