About the role

BHP has recently launched an integrated Australian Energy Team tasked with the management of Australia’s largest domestic gas sales portfolio, electricity procurement for BHP Minerals Australia Assets and coordination of BHP Australia carbon activities to meet BHP global sustainability objectives.

Primary job responsibilities include:
  • Develop an understanding of the Australian Energy market, including short term market dynamics and long term structural demand and supply trends.
  • Analyse government policies and environmental regulations to understand their impact on energy markets in Australia and how these relate to BHP’s power and carbon objectives.
  • Connect with stakeholders across BHP to drive aligned approach to energy and carbon management.
  • Participate in full value chain delivery including engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enable team through the development of commercial toolbox.
  • Originate and coordinate commercial opportunities across BHP Australian energy portfolio (natural gas, electricity and carbon).
  • Book performance and governance leadership including daily mark to market analysis against forward demand profiles.

About You

Diploma or relevant post-secondary qualifications in economics/business/logistics/law/science/engineering
