About the role

We are currently looking for an Engineering Technician Electrical to join our Rolling Stock Maintenance team in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Supervisor Ore Car Examiner, your duties will include: 
  • Understanding of maintenance processes and procedures;
  • Performing maintenance tasks on Rolling Stock;
  • Electrical diagnostics and repairs to Rolling Stock ECPB systems and ancillary cars;
  • Following Maintenance Work Management Processes;
  • Facilitating shift change overs;
  • Occasional travel to remote locations to repair/recover Rolling stock;

About You

The successful candidate will possess the follow: 
  • Electrical trade qualification 
  • Current and valid A grade electrical licence 
  • Experience within field and workshop based maintenance to Rolling Stock will be highly regarded; 
  • Minimum of C class manual drivers licence, HR class licence preferred
  • Proven p ost trade experience in mining, or heavy industry environments
  • ECPB fault finding highly regarded

Location
In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia on a 4 days on, 4 nights on, 8 days off roster. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.

The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife.  Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
