About the role

We are currently seeking high performing 400-600t class Excavator Operators and Electric Rope Shovel Operators who are passionate about delivering superior outcomes through safe production and clean mining hygiene to work within BHP’s Operations Services model.

Essential requirements of the role include: 
  • Experienced and skilled in the safe operations of hydraulic excavators or electric rope shovels (Liebherr 996 excavator and or Cat 7495 Shovel experience preferred);
  • The strong commitment to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance within mine working procedures;
  • The willingness and ability to mentor team members;
  • The ability to foster a team atmosphere within the work group; and
  • The adaptability to operate to changing work conditions and required mining techniques.

About You

To be successful you will:
  • Have experience operating 400-600t class excavators and or electric rope shovels;
  • Have a can do attitude and passion to improve personal and team performance;
  • Have proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way;
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills;
  • Display the adaptability to operate to changing work conditions and required mining techniques;
  • Exhibit an eagerness to learn and motivation to broaden your skills;
  • Present the ability to foster a teamwork atmosphere within your work group;
  • Experience using high precision GPS and fleet management system would be advantageous.
