About the role

The IROC (Integrated Remote Operations Centre) at BHP are expanding and are looking for new team members to join their growing team. As a remote operations controller, you will be controlling a facility in either central Queensland or New South Wales from the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Being part of the fixed plant team, you will talk to our onsite operations teams constantly and to other controllers to provide stable control to our operations. 

You will work in an environment which is dynamic and striving to continuously improve performance, and with this, you will be involved in continuous improvement projects to help us become even better!

In this role you will:
  • Manage & optimise plant processes whilst maintaining an overriding commitment to safety & health
  • Be responsible for day to day control of our fixed plant/port asset operations
  • Develop effective & positive relationships with site & within your team
  • With a focus on continuous improvement, you will foster a culture of best practices amongst your team & the business
  • Brisbane CBD based role working in a world class, 365 days per annum, control centre on a rotating day & night 12.5 hour shift roster

About You

  • Previous CHPP or similar Processing Plant Controller experience mandatory
  • Previous Port experience would be highly regarded
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure using your skills in prioritisation and  problem solving
  • Ability to work in a dynamic & ever changing environment
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst also working collaboratively with your team to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong sense of urgency & ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work across a diverse work group
  • Highly motivated with the ability to utilise your negotiation skills in order to influence others & achieve desired outcomes
  • Highly developed communication skills with ability to resolve conflicts
  • Willingness & ability to travel to site for training requirements & ongoing exposure to site operations
  • Exhibit strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems
