The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic individual to be part of something big – to work in an innovative team, with evolving technology, and playing a pivotal role in creating a world class mine.

About the role

BHP is currently on the look-out for talented and capable Supervisors with the ambition to grow within our global organisation, for our South Flank Project.

This role is not for everyone…

As a Supervisor with BHP, you will be working in an extremely fast-paced and demanding environment, regardless of whether you are in Mobile Maintenance, Fixed Plant Maintenance or Load & Haul.  In addition to that, you will be a Supervisor at South Flank, working on a start-up operation, for what is set to be one of the largest Iron Ore Mining Projects in the world.  It's a big role, which will come with its own unique challenges…Please read on if you’re unfazed.

About You

You will have a comprehensive technical understanding of all functions within your department and the operational experience to hit the ground running, however it will be your attitude and character that sets you apart from the crowd.
If you’re ready to step up and take on this challenge, you will be given the opportunity to be a driving-force behind a globally renowned, state of the art resources project, which is trailblazing a cultural shift within the mining industry and committing to true diversity and equality within its workforce.

What we offer you

Working on our new South Flank operation, we will provide you an environment where health and well-being are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and production. People are empowered, collaboration enabled and teams are connected to the strategy and plan.
The roster will be based on a foundation of 2 week on (1 week days, 1 week nights), 1 week off, but those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.

Supporting a diverse workforce

We know there are many aspects of our employees’ lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life.  These benefits include flexible working options, a generous paid parental leave policy, other extended leave entitlements and parent rooms.  We are an Equal Opportunity employer and we encourage applications from women and Indigenous people.
