About the role

·        12 Month Fixed Term contract with potential future opportunities

Reporting to the Superintendent Geotechnical Engineering, we are looking for a dynamic Geotechnical professional where you will have the opportunity to be responsible for providing geotechnical services to the business incorporating all aspects of slope design and hazard management.  In addition, the role will require support and improvement of the geotechnical engineering systems through cross-collaborative engagement with key stakeholders. 

This diverse range of work will see you positively influence business decisions and will require a focus on delivering value, clear decision-making skills, technical excellence and strong collaboration skills.

The role will also require travel and periods of support to the operating sites where there will be field time required, including supporting field-based operations performing geotechnical logging, mapping or providing site support in the Pilbara. 

About You

We have a strong focus on finding candidates with the right values, leadership, and communication skills.  Your strong stakeholder engagement will foster collaborative working relationships across our Geoscience, Engineering, Studies and Operational Teams.  In addition to demonstrated leadership capability, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focussed attitude. 
The ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and organisational levels to create buy-in and influence outcomes will be highly regarded.  A passion for continuous improvement will contribute to the identification, development and implementation of improvement opportunities.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in geotechnical technical in a similar role
  • Resource industry and site based geotechnical experience
  • Geotechnical open cut mine design experience
  • Capability with a Mining CAD package (such as Vulcan)
  • Capability with Geotechnical engineering software

Perth - City Square
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
Regular travel to site will be required for this role
