About the role

A Superintendent HSE Business Partnership position has become available at South Walker Creek reporting to the Head of HSE BMC. This opportunity will utilise your skills and experience leading a team of health, safety and environment professionals to support site operations. As the Superintendent HSE your role will be to provide coaching, specialised technical advice, and visible and proactive HSE leadership.

This position is based at our South Walker Creek Mine Site located near Nebo, Central Queensland. If you are looking to relocate, relocation assistance can be provided.

In this role you will:
  • Lead a team of HSE professionals plus a team of security and emergency management contractors.
  • Assist operational leaders embed processes - coaching and monitoring of task based risk assessments, incident investigations, visible field leadership and maintain high level of environmental performance.
  • Support South Walker operations and leadership teams enabling effective delivery of legal/GLD compliance and risk management in line with the HSE design.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors team members to ensure delivery against performance targets.
  • Monitors expectations, understanding and application of HSE Execution processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements and Group Level Documents (GLD).
  • Coordinates the execution of medical, return to work case management, medical assessment, emergency response and security services.

About You

The successful applicant will be an experienced, tertiary qualified, HSE professional with experience of supporting operational leaders in developing a positive safety culture and embedding key HSE programs. You cast a leadership shadow, empower your team and lead change through influence utilising your deep technical knowledge.

You will make the most of your coaching and HSE leadership skills to support operations in improving HSE outcomes and have the ability to engage at all levels of the business, external stakeholders and regulators.
