About the role


  • Support Pampa Norte Asset Lead Team business planning processes, developing a people plan for culture, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D), strategic workforce planning and Employee Relations strategy.
  • Drive the talent agenda at the Asset, maintaining a talent pipeline and supporting succession planning for a targeted set of critical roles identified with the Asset.

Core Accountabilities

  • Advise leaders on strategic people decisions facing their business or function.
  • Advise leaders on HR topics including culture, talent, performance, reward, organizational design, capability and Employee Relations (ER) strategy, to support high performance and resolve issues.
  • Assist leaders to identify strategic priorities, helping to connect the business with the HR function to drive alignment of strategy and execution plans.
  • Provide coaching and leadership effectiveness support.
  • Support and sponsor HR-led changes through relationships with Business leadership.
  • Support Asset and Functional Lead Teams' business planning processes, including culture, Inclusion & Diversity, strategic workforce planning and ER strategy.
  • Drive the talent agenda at the Asset or Function, maintaining a talent pipeline and supporting succession planning for a targeted set of critical roles identified with the Asset/Function.
  • Provide guidance and input on ER strategy, engage with third parties and support negotiations.
  • Advise on and/or manage referred or complex disciplinary cases.
  • Support line managers on performance improvement and disputes.

About You


  • University professional degree related to Human Resources and/or Business Management.
  • Postgraduate degree in related specialization.

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Expertise across full range of HR topics.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Strong senior stakeholder engagement, relationship building and executive coaching skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence, not authority, and integrate the full scope of HR service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of BHP’s business and clearly demonstrated business acumen.
  • Strong execution capability to develop, document plans and conduct Asset-level HR processes.
