About the role

Reporting to the Manager HSE, Business Partnering WAIO, this is an exciting time to join the team to facilitate great Health, Safety and Environment outcomes through your leadership, coaching, strategic direction and expert advice. This role will be focused on supporting the sites Leadership Teams, will be a member of WAIO HSE Business Partnering team and MAu HSE Function. This is a permanent role. While weekly site travel is required for this role, flexible work roster opportunities are available to the suitable candidate. The primary purpose of this role is to passionately deliver excellent HSE service in partnership with the Leadership Teams and to give advice and coaching so that risks with HSE impacts are effectively managed:
  • Acting as the Functional lead for a large Iron Ore site leading a team of HSE professionals as well as providing leadership support to health, hygiene and security and emergency management personnel.
  • Coaching Field Leadership activities, offering support and technical guidance to build a safety leadership culture and enhance understanding of compliance relevant to Company and legal requirements.
  • Coaching line management on the quality and effectiveness of HSE risk assessments, event investigations and corrective actions.
  • Managing, monitoring and controlling costs associated with Health, Safety and Environment programs and report on expenditure and variations to the HSE Manager whilst identifying cost saving opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all key customers including the site Leadership Team, Operations personnel and contractors, and business analysis and improvement team members
  • Facilitate the communication between workgroups to ensure consistency in HSE systems, processes, procedures and goals.
  • Manage, control, monitor and participate in the execution of work that is the accountability of the HSE Function.
  • Review and monitor contractor HSE performance and delivery to the HSE Management Plan.

You must also have adaptive leadership capabilities to motivate and inspire others through effectively engaging and developing others as well as being and leading complex change.
