About the role

As a Specialist Health at our Kalgoorlie operation, your primary role is to deliver a wide range of health services and initiatives. Please note this is a residential based role in Kalgoorlie, working at our Kalgoorlie operation. This role is offered on a family friendly roster of 5 days on 2 days off (Monday – Friday). Relocation assistance can be provided if required.

In this role you will:
  • Provide expert advice and support in the delivery of the sites fatigue, fitness for work, drug and alcohol, wellbeing and mental health plans and associated procedures
  • Provide expertise and direction for health promotion activities and site based initiatives
  • Provide strategic and operational support to Site Medic
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of all health and hygiene information and associated data
  • Provide onsite support for regulatory and BHP hygiene monitoring and health surveillance requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the centralised HSE team to deliver on key deliverables and embed business plan initiatives

About You

You will have successfully completed a  health related tertiary qualification is essential.  Ideally you would be a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, or Hygienist however other health related professions are encouraged to apply, as the role scope can be adapted to suit the preferred candidate.

Exposure to the mining and minerals processing industries is preferable as is previous experience working in a similar role within a large, structured organization and having sound knowledge of WA Mining Health Legislation. A Willingness to undertake additional training to comply with required testing may be required including but not limited to WorkCover, Audiometric Officer training, Spirometry and Ventilation Officer.
