About the role

We are looking for an experienced hands on Mobile Maintenance Technician to join our underground mobile maintenance team at Leinster. Reporting to the Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor and working in a fully equipped underground workshop you will demonstrate the following;

  • Overriding commitment to BHP Billiton Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development;
  • Working with the highest priority to safety at all times, striving to complete work within agreed timeframes;
  • Supporting Leinster by being industry leaders in maintenance;
  • Family friendly 7x7 roster flying in and out of Perth (dayshift and nightshift required);
  • Responsible for preventive breakdown maintenance of all underground mobile maintenance plant;
  • Competitive salary on offer plus 12% superannuation and a range of company benefits;

  • Work effectively with other maintenance and production team members;
  • Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed and;
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and undertake housekeeping and safety inspection.

Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
  • Trade Qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic;
  • Should have knowledge of the following; Sandvik Drills, CAT Loaders , Atlas Copco trucks, Volvo Ancillary
  • Experience diagnosing electric and hydraulic points
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the underground mining environment;
  • Minimum of C class manual drivers licence
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the underground mining environment;
  • High level of computer literacy, preferably accompanied by 1SAP experience
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong orientation to safe work practices, demonstrating a "can do" attitude
