About the role

Working in both the Mechanical Maintenance Workshop and Underground Maintenance Workshop, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of all underground mobile equipment. 
  • Family friendly roster 7 days on 7 days off, day shift/night shift rotation;
  • Undertake preventative maintenance on equipment;
  • Breakdown and fault analysis;
  • Utilising computerised maintenance management systems; 
  • Undertaking training and upskilling as required;
  • Maintaining a high level of housekeeping in the workshops;
  • Opportunities to step up in a Supervisory capacity.

Locations

Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.

Nickel West Cliffs is located approximately 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  Cliffs underground Nickel Mine is an integral part of Nickel West Leinster comprising of a nickel concentrator and dryer, located 12 kilometres south of Nickel West Mt Keith. Employees at Cliffs reside at the Mt Keith village,  some of the amenities at your disposal include internet connection, outdoor swimming pool, health and fitness equipment, indoor cricket, basketball court, BBQ areas plus and arrange of social activities. 

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following: 
  • Trade Qualification - Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/Fitter (essential);
  • Previous experience working on Underground equipment such as CAT Loaders, Epiroc Trucks, Sandvik Drill Rigs and Normet equipment (preferred);
  • Experience in Hydraulic fault finding (advantageous);
  • High level of computer literacy including 1SAP;
  • Previous Underground Mining experience (essential);
  • Current full WA Drivers Licence;
  • High Risk Licence - Dogging, Rigging & Fork Lift (desirable);
  • Have an overriding commitment to Health & Safety;
  • Flexible, team-orientated approach with strong communications skills.
