About the role

Reporting to the Housing Operations Supervisor, this role is to perform a diverse range of property management activities that will support our Housing function, with a focus on allocation of permanent and temporary company housing. This is a key role with a strong customer service focus enabling the Housing team to meet their commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
In addition, your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and transformation activities
  • Manage tenants against written lease agreement and Residential Tenancies Act
  • Facilitate the transition of new starters into residential housing
  • Allocate accommodation, in line with Residential Housing Policy
  • Conduct property inspections
  • Manage maintenance report and notifications in 1SAP
  • Maintain Real Estate (Console Gateway) operating system to ensure accurate efficient and accurate reporting capabilities
  • Identify and highlight opportunities to improve office procedures and schedules
  • Conduct general office admin task as directed (eg order stationery, take minutes, occupy front desk, attend meetings etc)


About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
  • Certificate II or III in Business Administration (or similar field)
  • C Class drivers licence essential
  • Registered Property Manager (compliant with Department of Commerce requirements) Desirable
  • Demonstrated commitment to Work Place Health and Safety
  • Customer service focused
  • Sound knowledge of  Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Fine attention to detail and record keeping
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team office environment
  • Console Gateway experience or similar Real Estate package
  • Live Agent Inspection programme exposure
  • Exposure to conveyancing processes within Western Australia – Desirable
  • Team leadership, or step up leadership experience  - desirable.

In this residential role, you will be based in Newman, Western Australia.  You will be working within the Newman Town which is closely located  to 'Mount Whaleback' mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities.  As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, watercourses and stunningly unique landscapes.
