About the role

Reporting to the Port Control Supervisor, you will be part of the Fixed Plant Control team located in Perth and responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of all fixed plant equipment located at our Port Hedland Port Operations. 

This position is being offered as Part Time (75% capacity). Following the ‘Lifestyle’ roster, the successful candidate will be required to work day and nightshift, with the flexibility to adjust start and finish times as negotiated. 

We are currently seeking  the services of a Port Controller to contribute to the achievement of production targets through coordinating the movements of equipment, monitoring plant, responding to faults and adjusting operating parameters in order to ensure production rates are optimized while at all times ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.

Key responsibilities include;
  • Plant Monitoring and Control (PMAC)
  • Delay accounting
  • Faultfinding and recovery
  • Adherence to plan, and optimizing where possible

About You

As the successful candidate, you will offer:
  • A demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety and the environment is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience developing strategies and executing plans 
  • Sound understanding of and exposure to Port operations is desirable 
  • Experience in Processing Plant Control would be advantageous 
  • The ability to successfully work within a high performing team environment with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Proven ability to function as a member of a team
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision making ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
