The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

About the role

A multi-million dollar investment has been made towards an impressive fleet of mobile equipment, including the market’s latest models of dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, drills and haul trucks.  

This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of an industry step change. Your work at South Flank will shape the future of BHP and play a pivotal role in the creation of a world class mine.

Our mining team is currently forming and we want you to be a part of it. Work as an operator within either our Production team or Mine Services team on the latest models of machinery. We are currently seeking operators who have experience in the following pieces of machinery in a mining environment:

  • Graders - 18M
  • Loaders - CAT 988K
  • Wheel Dozers - CAT 854K
  • Komatsu WA1200

We offer permanent full-time opportunities with highly sought after employee benefits such as BHP’s Superannuation contribution scheme, flexible rosters, annual bonus incentive as well as access to BHP’s renowned share programme. The roster will be based on a foundation of two weeks on (1 week days, 1 week nights), 1 week off, but those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply. 

About You

We are eager to engage with all-rounder operators who have experience operating 2 or more of the following machinery: wheel dozers, loaders, graders in the mining industry.

To be successful for this role, you should demonstrate a safety mindset to promote a culture of zero harm. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about continuous improvement of mining production.
