About the role

Reporting to Superintendent Modification and Operation Projects, we are seeking project managers and project supervisors for multiple mine sites from Port Hedland to Newman. The roles provide a high level of visibility at site within established and successful teams as well as extensive exposure across a diverse portfolio. You will provide functional expertise to drive world class delivery of these projects on site and across West Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) Assets.

Your responsibilities:

Project Manager
  • Contribute to safety orientated, high performance culture through effective mentoring and coaching;
  • Build relationships with the Operational teams and effectively manage stakeholder expectations;
  • Establish project management plans to successfully manage the project from initiation through to handover;
  • Develop all project deliverables required to meet BHP processes for investment management;
  • Maximise value through the life cycle of the project, leveraging function expertise;
  • Establish and administer design and construction contracts;
  • Identify and manage risk and project change;
  • Monitor, control and accurately report progress, proactively managing risks and issues to meet project KPIs
Project Supervisor 
  • Demonstrate Visible Leadership through understanding of material risks and on site vigilance including Hazard / event identification and investigation;
  • Co-ordinate the contractor site mobilisation process in compliance with the Pre-mobilisation checklist;
  • Monitor and manage contractor’s compliance with their Safety Management Plan and Hazard Register;
  • Day‐to‐day on‐site supervision of contractor and sub‐contractor groups to monitor progress and quality
  • Coordinate with other Site Supervisors and Operational/Maintenance personnel to manage impact on other site activities;
  • Positively engage and liaise with Project Engineers and Engineering to resolve technical queries/ design inconsistencies;

About You

You will like to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. You are a communicator, who collaborates and build relationships with others.  You will like to share ideas and put forward your point of view with multiple groups and at all levels. 

You should have an understanding of project and construction management. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an equivalent engineering trade and industry experience is highly desirable to support the technical requirements of the role.
