About the role

The function of the Industrial Communications Engineering Senior Radio and Transmission Engineer is to design, optimise and integrate LTE Radio Access Network (RAN) and Microwave transmission networks.

You will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions to address business requirements and then execute these solutions through IT change management processes and tools.

You'll Actively participate in the development and maintenance of our technical communications standards and blueprints. Engage various senior stakeholders, vendors and users in order to build long-term, strategic relationships.

This role will see you afforded opportunities to assist Managers and Principals to develop and maintain a life cycle of various network components of LTE network. Assist the principal to review and renew support contracts and engagement with various industry vendors.

Being a senior position in the team you will additionally provide mentorship and guidance to other RAN engineers, Wireless engineers and Digital Radio System Engineers within the team to promote a cross skilling and depth of knowledge across all disciplines.

About You

First and foremost you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all aspects of the LTE Radio Access Network (RAN) and Microwave transmission domain including EUTRAN, LTE, RF, Microwave, FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and Fibre Optics technologies.

You will be an individual whose responsibilities and focus for safety are just as important as their profession. Being a senior member of the team you will be demonstrate leadership qualities and traits.

Due to the wide variety of Internal and External stakeholders you will deal with on a daily basis, it's imperative that you have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

In addition to the above soft skills, the below are a few of the important requirements for success in this role.

  • Tertiary STEM degree, applicable to - Telecommunications, Computer Science or IT/OT with at least 5 years professional work experience in a related field.
  • Solid Technical background in a hosted services environment.
  • Ability to perform RF site surveys.
  • Multi Skilled across IP Network engineering, Communications and Electronic systems inlcuding: Radio Frequency, LTE EUTRAN, Microwave Backhaul transport network systems.
  • Familiarity in solar DC systems.
  • Strong experience in using industry standard network monitoring and management tools.
  • Good understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems.
  • Thorough understanding of cat5e, Cat 6 and OMD3/4 - OS2 fiber optic cabling systems.


Your experience will be from a background that ideally encompassed Engineering functions. You will have detailed knowledge and experience in maintaining and supporting large and complex network systems with a focus on OT/IT functions. Your experience will come with a proven track record of delivering results in a large scale and multitenancy network with complex distributed local network in industrial settings.
