About the role

We seek a well-rounded and dynamic individual to join our GAS Finance team as a Lead Financial Accounting (Statutory Reporting). Reporting to the Manager Finance, Global Assets Services, you will be a key member of that team that is responsible for statutory reporting obligations.  Key relationships that are critical for success in this role:

Key remit:The position is primarily responsible for leading team in the delivery of statutory reporting obligations to regulatory bodies. This includes the following:Statutory Reporting:
  • Where applicable, planning and coordination of audit of multiple statutory financial statements
  • Understand content and requirements for completing and lodging statutory financial statements in various jurisdictions
  • Prepare timelines that are inclusive of all stakeholder engagement and ensure deadlines are met
  • Utilize financial statement preparation software to complete financial statements; including preparation of the financial statements, adjusting journal entries, financial statement note disclosures and document control
  • Liaise with the external audit firm for planning and execution of audit fieldwork
  • Liaise with the wider Finance organization to gain additional knowledge to support statutory account preparation
  • Prepare and present required Board of Director materials, including an overview of the subsidiary, detailed income statement and balance sheet analysis and accompanying statutory financial statements
  • Present materials to multiple levels of Finance management

About You

Qualifications
  •       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  •       CPA preferred but not required
  •       Minimum of 5 years' experience in auditing, Oil and Gas exploration and production activities preferred
Experience & Technical Competencies
  •       Demonstrated experience working in SAP (or similar large ERP system) general ledger, business warehouse and consolidation system environment
  •       Strong analytical skills with focus on accuracy, validation and problem solving
  •       Superior interpersonal skills to handle various customer and stakeholder groups
  •       Ability to communicate and provide financial information to leaders
  •       Proven ability to deliver longer-term projects and to operate in a deadline driven environment
  •       Track record of identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
  •       Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation
Languages
  •       Fluent English, both verbal and written
  •       Good communication and strong stakeholder engagement
