About the role

To lead, develop and manage the performance of their respective execution team to ensure timely and accurate execution of mandated activities, in accordance with the Operational Plan, Group Level Documents, Standard Operating Procedures and regional legislation.
Core Accountabilities
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC)
  • Understand BHP's HR operating model
  • Drive focus on delivering over-all customer experience through service rendered by the team
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members to deliver against performance targets and maintain operational discipline; ensure delivery of service is compliant, timely and customer-focussed
  • Plan and manage staff performance including poor performance, conflict management, scheduling of needs and staff training needs
  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including the Operational Plan, Group Level Documents, agreements, systems, standards and procedures
  • Monitor internal controls and legislative compliance 
  • Monitor changes to internal and external legal, regulatory and reporting requirements impacting the team in their allocated area of accountability
  • Partner, collaborate and problem solve with other HR and non HR Functions, stakeholders and support groups to manage complex cases that require intervention 
  • Produce and analyse relevant reports on operational and management Key Performance Indicators where required 
  • Promote a step up culture, Promote a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives
  • Ensure local operating procedures documentation is maintained
  • Ensure queries and cases are managed within service level agreements and performance targets
  • Contribute and support the development of their respective Global Asset Services strategy
  • Identify risks and provide input into planning and actioning risk assessment 
  • Ensure Compliance to internal and external controls
  • Ensure Risk Management protocols are incorporated into operational activities 
  • Maintain good working relationships with peers within the BHP Billiton HR community (HRBP’s, Sub-Function SMEs) and liaise with external statutory organisations as required

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Degree or any relevant qualification in Human Resource; Experience in a Shared Service environment with high level of focus on customer interaction and customer experience 

Experience & Technical Competencies
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies and legislation
  • Being flexible and adaptable, and find new ways of solving challenges.
  • Learning agility – able to grasp new concepts quickly and be able to apply immediately 
  • Thorough understanding of relevant functional process 
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders and explain complex issues
