About the role

BHP is deploying a global program of work, known as the BHP Operating System (BOS). It is the next step in our continuous improvement journey and a critical part of our transformation that will shape BHP’s future and build a better BHP with a more empowering culture.

We are recruiting Line Coaches/Improvement Coaches for the Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics deployment. This will be offered on an 8 month fixed term basis.

Reporting to the BHP Operating System (BOS) Site Coach, this role will provide ongoing coaching to Managers, Superintendents, Improvement Specialists and the general workforce in application of BOS tools and methods.

You will upskill everyone in the workforce in problem solving skills and support the frontline and leaders to develop and sustain new ways of working. You will be hands on in implementing systematic improvement and be central to the spread of operating practice across our business. 

You will utilise innovative approaches, tools and technology to add real value to our assets – setting new standards to guide improvement activity, elevating and supporting our people. You will gain insight and training in the BOS methodology and will be expected to upskill others through your work.  

Your key deliverables include:
  • Role modelling the BOS philosophy, principles and tools and ensure quality in its application to drive significant improvements on site;
  • Build capabilities and foster the development of teams to achieve high performance through diagnosis, planning, coaching and adapting leadership style;
  • Assess, prioritise, plan and prepare focus areas and activities on site with a focus on unlocking value;
  • Provide guidance to Improvement Specialists.

About You

We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change. 

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:
  • Deep knowledge of business operations, processes and functions 
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions;
  • Exceptional customer focus to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to higher level management and;
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is desirable;
  • Experience within the Warehousing, Supply Chain and Logistics industry will be beneficial.
