About the role

As a key member of the Production Team, the Underground Loader Operator is responsible for the movement of all broken material in accordance with forecasted bogging rates. You will be required to operate the loader so as to minimise damage to the machine, tyres and bucket while maintaining level roadways to maximise safety and haulage rates. You will be required to bog out both development and production workplaces as instructed.

About You

  • At least 2 years’ experience as an Underground Loader Operator. Experience with 1700 and 2900 Elphinstone loaders is not a must but will position the candidate favorably;  
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of underground loaders;
  • Understanding of underground mining operations;
  • Confidence in communicating clearly and effectively on a two-way radio;
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to working in a team and be multi-skilled;
  • Ability to obtain a Site Blasting Certificate; and
  • A valid Australian Manuel Drivers' License.

Nickel West Leinster
Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course. Nickel West Leinster is a clean shaven and non-smoking site.
