About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a Logistics Rail Coordinator to join the Logistics Deviation Management team, based in our Brisbane Office.This role is responsible for the coordination to enable maximised throughput of our coal from BMA/BMC Mines to Hay Point, Dalrymple Bay and Abbot Point Coal Terminals through efficient transport and delivery of product. Offered on an 8/6 roster and reporting to the Superintendent Logistics Coordination, you will be responsible for the following:

Your responsibilities
  • Engagement with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of the logistics rail plan - minimizing disruption to the schedule and coal delivery to port;
  • Accountable for communication of performance, variation, and scheduling to all relevant stakeholders as well as accurate reporting and data analysis;
  • Optimise short term railings and port stockpile management in liaison with stakeholders to enable planned throughput within the Goonyella and Newlands Systems;
  • Utilise technical expertise in order to maximise value and volume through the supply chain;
  • Monitor stockpile inventories and manage variation by collaborating and providing instruction to mine and port operations;
  • Liaise with Mine site, Rail and Port Service providers to ensure trains are loaded, delivered and unloaded, as directed;
  • Monitor rail transactions and actively look for opportunities to improve the stability and throughput, and management process.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a strong understanding of logistics or rail operations, and a demonstrated background in within the coal industry.  An understanding of Port Operations as well the outbound coal supply chain processes will be advantageous. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build relationships and communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will also have excellent computer skills, including knowledge of 1SAP, Microsoft Office applications such as intermediate Excel skills.
