About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, within the Mining Equipment Maintenance team, this 15 month Fixed Term Contract Reliability Position will focus on the following:    
  • Demonstrating an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Developing and maintaining the Mining Equipment reliability and strategy
  • Developing budgets and forecasts through the use of equipment life cycle modelling and based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in 1SAP
  • Facilitating the development, implementation and maintenance of common standards including improvements to processes and systems
  • Conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
  • Conducting defect elimination projects in conjunction with teams from our Maintenance Centre of Excellence
  • Conceiving, developing and implementing improvement projects
  • Working closely with the execution teams to assist and coach with a view to building an effective and capable team

About You

You are an enthusiastic, team oriented and outcome focused individual with highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships. You are passionate about safety with a strong understanding of safe operations and safe behavior fundamentals.   An analytical problem solver you will bring experience with continuous improvement methodologies and an understanding of standardized work practices.   In addition, you will possess the following skills and experience:  
  • A Tertiary qualification in an Engineering or Technology discipline OR alternatively a Trade qualification with demonstrated Industry experience in maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience using 1SAP
  • An understanding of Fleet Performance and the skills to forecast on safety improvements
  • Knowledge of Defect elimination
  • A natural problem solver with a background in analytics
  • The ability to influential change and drive Best Practice
  • The ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet multiple deadlines
   
Location 
Newman Operations – FIFO or Residential This role is based on a residential basis in Newman however we would consider fly-in fly-out from Perth to Newman on a 5, 2, 4, 3 roster. You will be working across both sites at Newman Operations. Newman Operations West is more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide, making it the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. Newman Operations East is made up of several deposits and contributes to the overall ore production of the Newman Joint Venture hub. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.
