  • Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is an integral member of the Kalgoorlie Lead Team

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager has the responsibility for maintenance and reliability systems effectiveness, maintenance budget and costs, contractor agreements and service delivery, shutdown planning, execution and plant availability across the Kalgoorlie nickel smelter.The focus of this role will be on leadership and will provide you with the opportunity to work cooperatively with your peer group and team in achieving safe and stable operational performance.As a strong people leader, you will inspire, engage and lead change within the organisation. You will also promote and demonstrate integrity and a foremost focus on safety in developing, mentoring and coaching

About You

  • Tertiary Engineering qualifications are essential
  • With a strong background in maintenance management, you will have demonstrable success in managing maintenance in a large plant in the resources sector or other heavy industry
  • Experience in smelting or refining operations is preferable but not a pre-requisite
  • Personal qualities of strong leadership, high safety awareness, excellent communication and a strong operational discipline will be required

Nickel West Kalgoorlie

Kalgoorlie is the largest inland city in Western Australia and due to its central location is positioned at the heart of the Goldfields as a vibrant mining town and a major gateway to the Eastern States. Although fairly isolated, the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder offers modern shopping facilities, a huge variety of sports, and schooling for all ages up to high school. The Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter receives nickel concentrate from our mining operations in Leinster and Mt Keith as well as from our Third Party Feed concentrator in Kambalda. Nickel West Kalgoorlie incorporates a flash furnace smelter, converters and an acid plant which has the capacity to produce up to 110,000 tonnes per annum of nickel matte.
