About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be primarily responsible for the maintenance of the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) at Peak Downs Mine.  Working with supportive, development-oriented leadership, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership, to be accountable for your decisions, and be rewarded by seeing the results of your work.

In this role you will:
  • Undertake preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance and refurbishment work;
  • Raise breakdown orders as required;
  • Perform diagnostics and fault finding on equipment to reduce down time;
  • Complete accurate daily trade shift reporting;
  • Contribute to team, department and mine site goals to maximise operational performance;
  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively; 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance within mine working procedures;
  • Working a 6 & 6 roster, days & nights.

About You

  • Have proven CHPP & Maintenance Fitter experience
  • Be Trade Qualified
  • Have a proven commitment to safety
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Exhibit an eagerness to learn and champion the BHP Charter Values
