About the role

The Manager Analytics and Performance leads a team of data scientists, technical data visualisation experts and specialist Maintenance and Production analysts, and is responsible for delivering high value analytics and performance insights to improve productivity and safety across Operations Services deployments. What we are looking for:
  • Strong leadership in Health, Safety, Environment management and the sustainable development of Operations Services people.
  • Develop and manage the Operations Services Performance Framework and develop unique metrics and analytics services that enhance Operations Services performance and demonstrate OS’ value proposition.
  • Provide insights and identify opportunities to improve performance by conducting descriptive and diagnostic analysis to understand value drivers and optimise OS wide performance.
  • Provide benchmarking analytics across a wide range of metrics that span across BHP assets and operations, ensuring Operations Services sustainability.
  • Provide specialised maintenance and production analytics and diagnostics to continuously improve Operations Services productivity and safety.
  • Provide strategic and innovative thinking to ensure the business strategy is adequately mapped to the data analytics roadmap and data structures.
  • Anticipate future OS needs and proactively identify opportunities and solutions using data and business process and information models.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the design, delivery and evolution of OS data analytics and performance platform.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technology and data analytics solutions, themes and trends, and ensure best practices in data capture processing, and analytics are being applied to OS.
  • Manage data integration, governance, competition, confidentiality, and data privacy across OS.
  • Manage all aspects of OS performance reporting including regular performance routines, and adhoc reports requested by senior management.
  • Support the implementation of cohesive, OS-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other central reporting teams within BHP, to ensure alignment and coordination of performance information

About You

With significant leadership, strategic, deep analytics experience, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong interpersonal, consultation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing data analytics team.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to demonstrate a high level of autonomy in complex decision making and responsiveness;
  • Proven experience in designing self-serve empowering solutions using business intelligence tools such as TIBCO Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Ability to translate user reporting requirements and strategic drivers into sustainable analytics products
  • Significant experience exploring and analysing large datasets and building predictive models to find actionable business insights.
  • Effective at leading change, setting direction and context for all stakeholders.
    Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply integrative thinking to develop strategic advice, deliver briefings on complex issues and be alert to risks and opportunities; and
  • Proven ability to build, grow and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
