About Mt Arthur

Mt Arthur is the largest individual coal production site in the NSW Hunter Valley, Australia. Located near the town of Muswellbrook, the Mt Arthur coal mine produces thermal coal used for power generation and is sold in export markets. A wholly-owned subsidiary of BHP, the mine’s full production capacity is 22Mtpa (million tons per annum) of product.

This challenging role will preferably be based in the Hunter Valley NSW, but travel options will be considered. The role will be a full time permanent role with BHP.

The successful applicant will play a crucial part in proactively managing all aspects of the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP). The role will also include the maintenance for the CHPP as well as other fixed infrastructure on site. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Function as a senior manager in the site leadership team, you will report directly to the General Manager;
  • You will have the opportunity to build a strong team; 
  • Lead and manage health, safety and environment in your team; and
  • Deliver safely on the budget volume and cost objectives for CHPP and infrastructure teams.

About You

Our new Production Manager demonstrates a positive can-do attitude and values safety above all else. Extensive experience in a Coal Mining is not essential. At Mount Arthur Coal we are proud of our culture of care and are looking for a results driven, team player to join our team.
 As the successful candidate you ideally have experience in managing operational safety, as well as cost. As no day is the same, solid problem solving skills and analytical skills will be key.
