About the role

We have an opportunity for a Manager Project Services to provide leadership and direction in structuring and controlling the project scope, developing predictable cost estimates and achievable plans and schedules, monitoring budgets, commitments and actual costs, managing changes, measuring progress and reporting/analysing forecasts to influence on-time and on-budget delivery of project objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Project Services, you will be part of a Global function, enabling you to develop standards and share best practices in your area, and also leverage your peers’ experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Establishing and/or overseeing Project Services processes, methodologies, strategies, systems and functional plans for a our capital projects portfolio, in alignment with group frameworks and strategies, and relevant local standards. 
  • Providing expertise and management of Project Services resources deployed into a project team. 
  • Monitoring of Project Services data and reports, supporting the Project / Study Manager to ensure the on-time, on-budget delivery of project objectives. 
  • Overseeing the implementation of Contractor Project Services / Controls teams to ensure compliance with contractual requirements for Project Services processes, and to confirm teams are appropriately staffed with qualified resources. 
  • Implementation of capability development plans to ensure appropriately skilled Project Services resources matched to underlying project scope. 
  • Leading the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, including programmatic opportunities for increased capital efficiency and productivity in the function. 

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • A Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or Project Management, Business, Quantity surveying or related/relevant discipline
  • Previous experience within a similar role managing a portfolio of projects will be highly regarded 
  • A demonstrated understanding of principles and governance in Project Services sub-functions of cost estimating, planning and scheduling, cost engineering, project controls, risk and assurance and project information management
  • Strong understanding of business and financial drivers related to mining projects, and the decisions across the project lifecycle, with the ability to advise the leadership team accordingly
  • Demonstrated leadership and cultural development of teams enabling high performing outcomes in Project Services
  • Exceptional communications skills with the ability to influence across various levels

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
