About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Diamond Drilling, the Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all activities relating to places of refuge within the underground environment. This role acts as a key interface with our underground teams to ensure our places of refuge are effective and operational. 

The role will be based in Olympic Dam and offered on a 5/2 or 4/3 FIFO (ex-Adelaide) or residential at Roxby Downs.

In this role you will:
  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader. 
  • Provide visible leadership, coaching and mentoring through Time In Field activities
  • Oversee compliance with operating standards, procedures, government regulations, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal outcomes 
  • Be involved in the development of the schedule, in consultation with Operational functions
  • Provide problem resolution and removal of barriers to support the success of our customers
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities 
  • Build cross-functional relationships with the Operational sub-functions to support the delivery of production
  • Monitor real time executional tasks and allocate resources to execute the daily plan through the use of process control systems.

About You

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in safety leadership
  • Exposure to and experience in the underground mining industry is essential
  • Previous experience in a similar role is expected with supervisory experience of sizeable teams advantageous
  • Confident communicator who can effectively engage internal and external stakeholders, influence and drive decision makers to ensure deadlines are met
  • Scheduling experience is required
  • Exposure working with relevant underground equipment is preferred
  • Exposure to Deswik and CAD software
  • A degree or tertiary qualification in engineering is advantageous, though not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build cohesive and collaborative relationships at all levels and cross departments
  • Drilling experience is advantageous
